Legal pathways for refugees are at a critical crossroads. The need has never been greater, yet political headwinds, budget cuts, and anti-immigrant sentiment are shrinking the space for protection at an alarming rate.
At the same time, signs of resilience remain. Countries continue to experiment with resettlement and complementary pathways, and frameworks for international cooperation offer a foundation for the future.
This roundtable will bring together a diverse group of stakeholders (NGOs, refugee-led organisations, governments, international organisations, foundations, academics, and the private sector) to step back from day-to-day implementation and engage in open, strategic dialogue.
This is not a conference with predetermined conclusions. It is a safe space for frank, constructive conversation about:
How we advocate for legal pathways in a hostile political climate
What protection could and should look like in the years ahead
How we adapt strategies to meet the realities refugees face today
