Across Europe, many countries are developing different community-led welcome models that focus on providing volunteer support to foster the integration of vulnerable refugees. Unlike traditional community sponsorship schemes, those models feature a lighter integration support component, with volunteers primarily offering social and emotional support rather than financial and administrative assistance. Moreover, the individuals and families supported through these initiatives may include quota refugees who arrived under state-led resettlement, beneficiaries of temporary protection, and spontaneous arrivals to the country.
To present these models, foster mutual exchange and promote peer learning between traditional community sponsorship scheme and community support model stakeholders, ICMC Europe/Share Network is pleased to present the ‘Integration Plus models’ webinar series.
The first webinar will explore the Nordic model of community support with presentations from UNHCR, a Swedish civil society organisation, a Swedish municipality, and international civil society organisations in Finland and Denmark.
